Holland America Line's MS Statendam is 55,000 gross tons and hosts 1258 guests and 557 crew. Her maiden voyage was in 1993 and she was ordered along with her sisters MS Maasdam and MS Ryndam from Italian shipyard Fincantieri.. When launched her class proved to be one of the world's most technically advanced and optimized cruise ships in the world.
