Why do so many folks book a year or more in advance ?
*Their personality drives them so
*Folks enjoy having something to look forward to something
in the future*Their 2014 vacation has been taken
*The lowest possible rates
*The best cabin locations
*Categories that are limited
*Seasonal cruises, which sell out the quickest
*Taking a group of family & friends (need to plan 9mo’s to 15 mo’s in advance – depends on the cruise & season).
*Their personality doesn’t think that far ahead
*Jobs won’t promise vacation time earlier
*Some hadn’t planned on going, yet they saw an offer or package they could not resist.
Though this can be true at time, there are many myths to
this perception !
50% of the space or more, “starts out” with the lowest
possible rates you will see. 25% of the
dates, may never go up, 25% may come down, yet 50% of the dates, will go up !
Dates that will go up is Summer, holidays, and Feb-March
! And watch out for sailings that only
have 1-2 sailings of that itinerary (Good example: October 23, Carnival Splendor, to Bermuda,
out of Norfolk – call me, I have space).
So if you are planning for any of these time, you need to consider
booking BEFORE the next year (January 2015).
Two very important situations also sell out quickly …
#1, if you need rooms of more than 2, these cabins sell out
FIRST !#2, if you are taking a group, the allocation for groups goes quickly !
OK, early birds …. GET YOUR ENGINES ROLLING … May is upon
us. It’s time to look online at the many
options. Talk to your family. And talk with co-workers as to when they plan
to vacation next year !
