MSC Divina. Looks like a great ship for ladies to enjoy. My mom and I will venture in April. Come join us !

I have been wanting to go on MSC Cruises for a long time, but time never presented itself.  Now with all their offers, I just had to book myself.  First I was trying to go in May, however, never found a roommate.  Once they offered a seminar in April, my mom said she would go.

Looks like the perfect ship, by it's name, for two ladies to go on.  So I leave April 7, headed to Daytona Beach to be with my mom before the cruise.  Then April 12, we take Cruise Connection from Daytona to Miami for our cruise on the MSC Divina for 7 nights to the Western Caribbean.  I could have chosen a different date, but I wanted to go to Falmouth, Jamaica, since I had never been there.

Today, I decided to look at the MSC Divina closer.  I went on their website.

We do have a balcony, so looking forward to this. As far as dining, they do not assign anyone in advance.  You find out what has been chosen for you, after you get there.  There is 1st and 2nd and no open, which is fine with us.  My mom prefers first, but she acts like she will be ok with either.

I see they have a cigar lounge.  This will allow for folks, like myself, who smoke, to have a place onboard to smoke.

They have a piano bar.  Great for folks who love to listen to sing-a-long music.

There’s a Jazz bar too.

There’s a Sports Bar – Bowling.  Seems they have a bowling alley like Norwegian Cruise Line.  They are using Norwegian’s Private Island, Great Stirrup Cay, so these cruise lines must have a close relationship !

I see several restaurants.  Though it says, “All restaurants aboard our cruise ships offer all-inclusive meals, a wide range of menus and daily choice of tasty dishes, from the familiar to the exotic, in sumptuous surroundings”, I see another place online, that mentions $20-$50pp extra, so I’m sure not free.

Look:  4D cinema, family fun in the Aqua Park and evening entertainment, from theater and cabaret to music and dance each night.  Our theater provides a truly magical ambiance for our own unique brand of surreal theatricality and outstanding world-class performances each night.  Quality entertainment for quality cruising.  Enjoy a game of Roulette at the casino or try your hand at the popular ‘Trente et Quarante’.

They have an art auction.  Keep me away from there !

Two nights dress up and it says:  After 6:00pm, jeans, t-shirts, shorts, and bare feet are not permitted in the ships' public areas.  WOW, will be interesting to see if they hold up to this rule !

I might like this package:  10 vouchers for milkshakes, ice cream shakes, virgin cocktails, canned sodas or fruit juices $31.

Hopefully they have a regular complimentary continental breakfast in room.  Here’s a DELUXE continental breakfast in cabin for two: … selection of hot drinks: coffee, tea / infusions, milk
whole / skim … freshly squeezed orange juice …bread rolls and croissants (croissant, pain au
chocolate, baguette, brioche) … 3 varieties of marmalade  $ 16.50

The Ports:

 Day at Sea

Falmouth, Jamaica.  I’ve yet to go here.  Looks like, just outside the ship is:  dining establishments, duty-free and boutique shops, a craft market, and businesses.

Grand Caymen – Hoping mom will ride the tender, and go in with me to shop a little.  The town is right there, once you get off tender.  Not a lot to do there.  A little bit of shopping. They are known for the rum cake tasting.  Variety of kinds.  And they sell out fast, so you don’t want to wait till end of day to go.

Cozumel.  If they are at the new docks, there is shopping right there.  To do down town, would be by cab, probably $5 for both of us there, and then another $5 back.  Lots of shops there !  Then there’s a restaurant I love to go to, and get tastados.  Cost @ $8.

Day at Sea

Great Stirrup Cay.  This is Norwegians private island.  Just a beach day.  I will want to go in and have lunch.  Mom may not go in with me.  Again, might have to go by “tender boat”.

Well, that’s about all I wanted to look at before going.  I sent all this info to my mother. It’s getting to closer to time to go !  You should come join this new experience with us !
