Holland America Line's MS Statendam is 55,000 gross tons and hosts 1258 guests and 557 crew. Her maiden voyage was in 1993 and she was ordered along with her sisters MS Maasdam and MS Ryndam from Italian shipyard Fincantieri.. When launched her class proved to be one of the world's most technically advanced and optimized cruise ships in the world. The grandly appointed and recently enhanced Statendam, offers an on-board experience defined by spacious comfort, and the latest Signature of Excellence features and amenities. Upgrades begin with new fixtures and soft goods in staterooms and bathrooms. Staterooms offer a generous amount of personal space and many feature commanding ocean views with private verandahs. Recent remodeled, lounges and public spaces were updated and an exciting new entertainment destination called Mix was added. Mix features three distinctly themed bars which together provide the ultimate place to socialize and be entertained. Statendam features more than $2 million worth of art and rare artifacts displayed throughout the ship.
